Turnover of 21 rainboots, raincoats, a bicycle unit with sidecar, and 2 karitons to COVID Isolation Facility


As a way of assisting our frontliners in Ormoc City, the Rotary Club of Ormoc turned over 21 rainboots, raincoats, a bicycle unit with sidecar, and 2 karitons to assist the staff in our COVID Isolation Facility in facilitating the arrivals of LSIs who are required to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Token of Recognition for RCO Members and Outstanding Spouses from PP Maricel Ngo






























































To our District Governor Rizel Reyes, to my CHAMPION PAST District Governor Philip Tan ( I am sure both of them will be watching this recorded Valedictory address), PDG Perok Rodriguez, To DG elect Anna Bumagat, to our Pres Erwin Into and his new set of officers, to our hardworking Rotarians, spouses and Guests. My valedictory message is segmented: 1st is Round down of the CLUB ACCOMPLISHMENTS and 2nd is Message of Gratitude.

Our Directors for Membership, TRF and Public Image have done a great job.

AS to our Membership- with 4 new members and exceeded the  number of members ending June 2019. Thank you Papa Troy for championing the membership committee. Special thanks to the Rotarian sponsors of our new members.

TRF -   For a period of five weeks, the club exceeded its target with $4,956 actual contribution which is $356 more than club's target of $4600. Thank you TRF Chair Toots and her secretary spouse Tiny and to all our generous members.

As to the clubs Monthly submission of REPORTS- Thank you to our jolly secretary Quely for the complete submssion of monthly reports to the District covering July 2019 up to June 2020. Thanks to Atty Maya and Atty Lyssa for helping the club revived our Club Bulletin ORMOKANON. We released 4 issues and I hope we will continue during Pres Erwin’s term. Our club also paid before deadline our RI Dues, District Levy for each rotarian: Disaster Fund and Rotaract fund. Thank you to our treasurer Ging- we have the same level of alcohol tolerance and we both love RED Horse.

As to our public image, good job to my handsome and head turner husband Romnick, este Joel Ngo. Our People of Action photos were used in the District as examples of proper POA photos. Our TOGETHER WE SAVE LIVES with Alright as the model, TOGETHER, We LEARN during our EDC / Keitech tour with spouse Tiny, Grace, Rotarian Ian, Quely as models.

As to our service projects, I am a very obedient student of Madam/ DGE Anna Bumagat. I followed her advice to come up with groupings as experiment lng unta but surprisingly it worked sa ato Feeding at Sumangga and Christmas Decor. It made my work as President easier. All I have to do is just to bring myself to the event and viola, everything was well prepared and well coordinated.

 DAghan salamat, October- for sponsoring the entire feeding for the month, giving of school supplies to students c/o October birthday celebrant spouse Rena. Highlight of the October feeding, this Rotarian,  as described by Rtn Lysa, the life of the party and  an expert in stealing away the spotlight,PP Wesley dressed up as buzz lighter and this has brought so much joy to Sumangga elementary students. To the rest of the October group members, Clinth( potential presidents and aspiring photographer )  and, EJ, Nacho, Leo, Jovie, Dow, Perok, Ava-: Spouse Mannel, Monic, Patis, Nikki, Victor my salute to your generosity.

In Rotary, we don’t believe in ONE-MAN Team. We believe in collaboration and that’s Rotary Way. Not only that our groups applied to our feeding program, but also to this Rotunda Christmas Décor and we WON.

This activity is championed by Doc Letlet thru her Adopt a teenage mom project. Highlight of my term/ flagship project:

It is worth mentioning… daghan salamat pud sa ato CHTO ng RCO, PP Edmund Kierulf for feeding me ideas on how our club can help in the community and create an impactful projects. Last December 9, 2019, the Local Government of Ormoc invited the club to join in the presentation of the RED ORCHID AWARD bagged by the city for the 2nd time. OUR CONTRIBUTION is the two  big billboard “ SMOKE FREE ORMOC CITY” and this project qualified for the DISTRICT GRANT. Napublish pud ni cyang ato billboard sa SUNSTAR CEBU as News Photo of this award. AND gain, DGE Anna assisted me on the application.

Million thanks to the self-acclaimed hot throb/ hunk of Ormoc PP Wesley Chu, for championing the ULANTIN, Toilets, Handwashing Facilities in LINAO Central Elementary School. Special thanks to RTN Ferdie for assisting PP Wesley.. Also,  to PP Darwin for helping us in the coordination with Linao Elementary School. This project started during the time of PAG Sandra and during my term cya a realize. Thanks Doc Sandra for starting this project. And Mind you, This project receives the most number of views in our rcormoc website.


Towards the end of my term, COVID happened and this global crisis has proven once more how HEROIC  Rotarians are , thru our own service projects and most importantly as professionals, entrepreneurs and public servants. To Our FRONTLINER- MEMBERS / Rotarians, risking your lives in the fight against COVID-19 is an act of heroism and because of that we are forever grateful for protecting us. This July 25, I shall be giving recognition to RCO members who have shown significant contribution not only in our club projects but also in city of Ormoc.


During COVID, our club proactively responded to combat COVID. We are the first ones led by PP Wesley, Joel, Spouse Rena and Spouse Tiny that started fabrication of face masks made of locally sourced materials..I received a lot of calls for orders during that time but as per instruction all will be donated . PP Wesley presented a sample design of the coverall suits during the COVID meeting and other civic orgs follow suit The contribution of spouse LORNA as tailor of the coverall suits is really inspiring. Most of us don’t have the expertise to make a PPES/coverall suits but we give  our share, thanks to those who contributed money to make all these PPEs and coverall suits. We collected a total of P53,800. Our Stay at Home Campaign, thanks to EJ , Nacho and Clinth for the gigantic billboard. Also to PP Wesley and Rotarian Joel Ngo.  Special thanks also to the Doc Maimai, Atty Lyssa for the Visayan translation : Pagkwarantina: Pagpuyo sa Balay Brochure/info campaign. Also, to Atty Lyssa and Joel, for their collaboration in printing the visuals for the critically ill covid patients. To our all medical practitioners and public servants: Doc Mooniks, Doc Jerry, Doc Sandra,Doc William, Doc Lynette, Atty Joy, Lyra, Kag Benneth, Kag Perok, Maimai, Roie, Kelly, Doc Silver, Doc Eric, Doc Dodie, Riza, Kap Rex, Brod Delserg, Spouse Jiji. My salute to you guys.

Lastly, In my acceptance speech  last July 2019, I asked for your support by sharing a little of your time and resources for Rotary, by focusing on our humanitarian service…and my grade to your performance is a WHOOPING 100% / A+, FLAT 1 …DAGHAN SALAMAT MY CHAMPION ROTARIANS.
