The ROTARY CLUB OF ORMOC was chartered in October 28, 1966 and belongs to Zone 3C of RI District 3860. RC ORMOC has always endeavored to conduct service projects responsive to the needs of the community. Through the years, it has continued to work in the areas of emphases of Rotary International particularly in the Areas of Focus and supporting the End Polio campaign.
The experience with Typhoon Haiyan has enabled the club to be more versatile and has ushered and administered the repair and construction of more than 100 classrooms of public Elementary education destroyed in November. The statistics showed that RC Ormoc is now second in the number of classroom repaired by UNICEF with no less than the Department of Education District supervisor recognizing this feat.
At RC ORMOC, every member exemplifies the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” in addressing concerns beyond one’s own. It has offered club members an opportunity to change the lives of those who desperately need help. The challenges of the times are enormous but in the midst of every difficulty is an opportunity every member is willing to undertake.
